What Phone Number and Passport to Indicate in RuID if You Have a Residence Permit in Russia

Documents and Data ✅ Answered

Question

We have a residence permit and permanent registration in Russia. Do we need to submit an application for entry into Russia? Which phone number should we enter — a Russian one or a Kazakh one? Which passport should we indicate — the Russian residence permit or the passport of a citizen of Kazakhstan?

Answer

If you are a citizen of Kazakhstan, you should indicate the details of the document under which you are entering as a foreign citizen in RuID. The Russian residence permit is not a passport for crossing the border.

It is better to provide a phone number that you have access to and on which you can receive a confirmation code. If the system requires a specific format or a Russian number, and you do not have one, this is a technical issue to address with RuID support.

The residence permit itself is important for confirming your right to reside in Russia, but your citizenship remains your actual citizenship when filling out the form.
