Is RuID Required for a Person with Citizenship of Russia and Armenia

Documents and Data ✅ Answered

Question

I have citizenship of Russia and Armenia. My Russian passport is expired, so I plan to enter Russia on my Armenian passport. Do I need RuID?

Answer

If a person has citizenship of Russia, it is better to address the entry issue as a Russian citizen. RuID is intended for foreign citizens and does not replace a Russian document.

If the Russian passport is expired, it is advisable to contact the consulate or MVD in advance to clarify which document is needed for entry and passport renewal. In this situation, RuID is not the main concern.
