Government Services Do Not Accept Foreigner Data

If Government Services or ruID do not accept foreigner data, the reason is not always with the service itself. The error may lie in the passport, translation, SNILS, phone, old profile, name spelling, or a mismatch with the document used previously.

Error with foreigner data in Government Services and ruID

The main thing is not to create multiple accounts in succession and not to give the password to intermediaries. First, you need to understand which data does not match.

What May Not Match

DataCommon Cause of Error
Passportnew document, different name spelling
SNILSnumber linked to old data
Phonealready used in another account
Emailno access to the old profile
Date of Birtherror in translation or profile
Addressregistration differs from actual residence
ruIDphoto, document, or application filled out differently

Passport Does Not Pass Verification

Check which document is specified in the profile. If SNILS or an old account was issued with an old passport, the new passport may not match automatically. An error may also occur due to Latin letters, Cyrillic, patronymics, spaces, or the order of surname and first name.

Separate instruction: ruID: passport data does not match .

Error with SNILS

SNILS is assigned once. If the service does not accept the number, do not issue a new one. Check what data it was issued under: passport, name, date of birth, translation. If there is an error in the data, you need to correct the source of the error.

See: SNILS for foreigners in Russia .

Phone Already Occupied

This can happen if the number was used in an old account, by a relative, by an intermediary, or was purchased after another owner. Try to restore access officially. Do not use someone else’s account and do not buy a “ready profile.”

If you do not have a Russian number, open: ruID without a Russian phone .

ruID Does Not Submit Application

The problem may be with the document, photo, address, biometrics, connection, or the application itself. First, update the application, check the quality of the photo and passport data. If the error persists, save a screenshot and the error text.

How to Check Safely

  1. Open the profile and write down what data is specified.
  2. Compare with the passport and translation.
  3. Check SNILS if it is used.
  4. Make sure the phone and email are accessible.
  5. Take a screenshot of the error.
  6. Do not create a new account until you understand the reason.
  7. If there is a migration risk, check the documents with the Ministry of Internal Affairs/RKL separately.

When the Problem Is Not Just Technical

If the error is related to entry, RKL, a ban, registration, or the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it is no longer just a “Government Services failure.” You need to check the migration status separately.

Open: how to confirm your account , registry of controlled persons and check entry ban .

What Not to Do

  • do not share your Government Services password;
  • do not register with someone else’s phone;
  • do not buy a ready account;
  • do not send your passport to an unknown intermediary;
  • do not ignore the error if it affects entry or the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
  • do not create multiple profiles unnecessarily.

FAQ

Can I delete my account and create a new one?

Sometimes this only worsens the situation. It is better to restore access or correct the data first.

What to do if the passport is new?

Check where the old passport is still indicated: SNILS, profile, ruID, applications, old services. You may need to update the data.

Why did it work for someone else but not for me?

Foreigners have different documents, citizenship, entry history, SNILS, phone, and status. The error may be individual.

What to Do Next

Save a screenshot of the error, check the passport, SNILS, phone, and profile. If the problem is technical — go through official support. If the error is related to migration status, first check RKL, registration, ban, and documents.
