The entry date to RuID has changed: what to do
If the entry date to Russia has changed after submitting an application to RuID, first check if you can edit the trip in the app. Do not delete your profile or create multiple identical applications in a row: this will make it harder to understand which one has actually been accepted.
Usually, the course of action depends on the status of the application and how much the trip has changed. Below is a safe algorithm for cases where the flight has been rescheduled, the ticket has been exchanged, or the border needs to be crossed earlier or later than the specified date.

What to do first
- Open RuID and find the entry application.
- Check its status: draft, submitted, accepted, requires correction, or error.
- Compare the specified date with the new ticket or travel plan.
- See if the button to change the data is available.
- If editing is not available, open the app’s help or support.
- Save the application number and screenshots before making any changes.
If the application is still in draft, correct the date before submission. If it has already been submitted, use only the method of changing or resubmitting that the app itself offers.
Is it possible to enter on a different date
Changing the travel date does not in itself mean that a person has been banned from entry. The decision to allow entry at the border is made based on documents and legal grounds, not just the date in the app.
However, it is not advisable to leave knowingly incorrect data without attempting to correct it. The current date helps match the application with the trip and reduces the risk of additional questions during control.
It is especially important to update information if:
- the trip has been postponed for a long time;
- a car or train route has been chosen instead of a flight;
- the border crossing point has changed;
- along with the date, the passport, purpose, or conditions of the trip have changed;
- the app shows a warning or asks to correct the application.
If the trip has been postponed
If the trip has been postponed by several days, open the application and check the possibility of editing. If the date changes, enter the new one and ensure that the update has been saved.
If the application cannot be changed:
- do not delete the account;
- keep the old application and its status;
- take a screenshot of the new ticket date;
- contact RuID support;
- submit a new application only through the function provided by the app.
In case of a significant postponement, it is safer to obtain an up-to-date application in the app rather than rely on old information.
If you need to enter earlier
When the flight has been rescheduled to an earlier date, there is less time for correction. Check the application immediately after changing the ticket.
For a regular trip, applications are submitted no earlier than 90 days and no later than 72 hours before entry. Compare the time of the initial submission with the new entry date: if the application was submitted in advance and RuID allows changing the date without a new submission, the mere fact that there are now less than 72 hours before the trip does not yet mean a violation of the deadline.
If the app requires submitting a new or replacement application, focus on the time of this submission. Do not assume that editing retains the previous time: check the date and time in the confirmation, the status of the application, and RuID’s instructions, or clarify this with support. When a new submission is required and there are less than 72 hours until entry, the usual deadline can no longer be met.
An urgent submission no later than 4 hours is only provided for documented emergency reasons: emergency treatment, serious illness, or death of a close relative. The mere rescheduling of a flight or a more convenient earlier date does not constitute such a reason. If there is no emergency reason, resubmission does not guarantee compliance with the deadline; if possible, postpone entry. Details are available in the instructions who and when needs to register travel .
Prepare:
- a valid passport;
- a visa, if required;
- a new ticket or reservation;
- the address and purpose of the trip;
- the RuID application number;
- screenshots of the status and support inquiries.
RuID does not replace a passport, visa, or other documents for entry. If additional documents are required based on your citizenship or purpose of the trip, they must remain valid for the new date.
If not only the date has changed
The date is not the only field that needs to be checked. After rescheduling the trip, compare all key information:
| What has changed | What to check |
|---|---|
| New passport | number, expiration date, spelling of the name |
| Different flight | date and planned entry point |
| Different purpose | does it match the documents |
| New address | are the accommodation details current |
| Different phone | is access to the profile and notifications retained |
| Trip with a child | are the child’s details correctly added |
In case of an error in the passport, use the instructions RuID: passport data do not match . If the application is not submitted, see what to do in case of a submission error .
Do I need to delete the old application
Do not delete it until you see a clear official scenario in the app: change, cancel, or submit a new one. First, save:
- the application number;
- the submission date;
- the current status;
- screenshots of notifications;
- the response from support, if you contacted them.
Multiple applications with different dates can confuse the user. Focus on the last accepted application and the service’s own instructions.
What to show when questioned at the border
The main documents are the passport and documents confirming the right and purpose of entry. Additionally, it is useful to have the new ticket, reservation, application number, and a screenshot of the trip change.
Do not provide false information. Briefly explain when the flight changed and what actions you took in RuID.
If you are unsure not only about the date but also about your right to enter, check in advance for a possible entry ban and the registry of controlled persons .
Common mistakes
Creating multiple applications in a row
This does not guarantee faster processing. First, establish the status of the current application.
Deleting the app before the trip
After deletion, you may lose quick access to the application, notifications, and inquiry history.
Changing only the ticket
A new ticket does not automatically update the data in RuID. Check the application separately.
Considering a date error as a ban
A mismatch in the date and an entry ban are different issues. The ban is checked separately.
Using someone else’s profile
The application data must match your passport. Do not buy accounts or share access codes with intermediaries.
FAQ
If the date has shifted by one day, do I need to submit again?
First, try to change the date in the existing application. If the app does not allow this, follow its help or support response. Do not create a duplicate unnecessarily.
What to do if the new date is already tomorrow?
First, compare the time of the initial submission with the new entry date and check if the app has retained the accepted application after changing the date. If RuID requires a new or replacement application, there is already insufficient time before the usual 72-hour deadline. The scenario for submission no later than 4 hours applies only in the case of a confirmed emergency reason — emergency treatment, serious illness, or death of a close relative. It is unclear whether the previous time is retained after editing — check the confirmation and clarify this with support. If there is no emergency reason and a new submission is needed, postpone entry if possible.
The old application has been accepted, but the date is incorrect. Is it canceled?
Do not make such a conclusion without a status or notification in the app. Check if editing is available and request clarification from support.
Will I be denied entry due to an incorrect date?
An error in the date does not equal a ban. However, the final decision is made at border control based on documents and legal grounds. Therefore, it is better to correct the data in advance and keep confirmation of the attempt.
The QR code disappeared after changing the date. What to do?
Check the status of the application and notifications. Use a separate algorithm: RuID does not show QR code .
Legal basis
The experiment with digital entry and exit rules is conducted based on the resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated November 7, 2024, No. 1510. The resolution dated April 27, 2026, No. 468 extended the experiment until December 31, 2027.
The functions and interface of RuID may be updated. Therefore, in case of discrepancies between this instruction and the prompt in the app, use the current official RuID scenario and keep confirmations of your actions.
In brief
If the entry date has changed, check the status of the application, try to update the data, and save confirmations. Do not delete your profile or create duplicates without the app’s indication. For urgent trips, prepare valid documents, a new ticket, and a support inquiry.
Before the trip, also check who needs an application through RuID and how to register and submit an application .
